| Pray Without Ceasing (1 Thess 5:17) |
|
Orad sin Cesar.
And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a robbers’ den.” (Mark 11:17 NASB)
In this verse Jesus is quoting from Isaiah 56:7 in which scripture states that the Lord’s house will be a house of prayer for both Jews and gentiles alike. But the key point of this verse is that while the venue in which we gather to worship God may be filled with music and teaching and fellowship, etc.; what is uppermost is that it should be a house of prayer. Jim Cymbala, lead pastor of The Brooklyn Tabernacle, reminds us in a video sermon that the bowls of incense mentioned in Revelation 5:8 are the prayers of the saints. How cool is that, that our prayers would be a pleasing aroma to God in Heaven? Maybe that is why Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray without ceasing”.
With all that in mind, River Winds Community Church considers prayer of the utmost importance and not only welcomes yours for our ministry, but welcomes your prayer requests for your needs. Send your requests to us at Prayer so that we may lift them up to the Lord on your behalf. |
