This year earthquakes, floods, and fires have struck the US and other countries. If you can, please join in the restoration efforts to assist the victims.

What is needed:

1)      Search and Rescue – to find and recover the living still hidden and trapped in the rubble.

2)      Medical Treatment – the lesions and breaks have to be treated for physical healing to begin.

3)      Water, Food & Shelter – clean water is needed for all the people, survivors and aid personnel alike, plus food and temporary shelter. Sleep and rest are an integral part of one’s physical recovery. A measure of privacy and family life would be welcome.

4)      Clean up and Restoration – the infrastructure (roads, utilities, communications) needs to be addressed for “normal” functioning and a restoration of “life” for the residents.

5)      Rebuilding – with the tremendous devastation of homes and official structures this task will be an ongoing multi-year project much like Katrina recovery is in the US Gulf States.

What you can do:

1)      Pray – for God’s intercession, favor, and mercy. He can expedite and streamline the assistance that is needed and is already headed to these countries.

2)      Pray – for unity and coordination among the various relief organizations present.

3)      Donate – supplies and funds to the relief effort:

a.   Donate to reputable agencies. Scam artists thrive on generous and incautious hearts.

b.      Samaritan’s Purse – http://www.samaritanspurse.org/

c.      Red Cross – http://www.redcross.org/

Apostle Paul said, “We must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'" Acts 20:35 (NIV)

And in Hebrews we read: God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Heb 6:10 (NIV)
